ART GALLERY OF NEW SOUTH WALES

ART GALLERY OF NEW SOUTH WALES

The piece of art I will write about is a painting called Chaucer at the Court of Edward III. The author of this painting is called Ford Madox Brown and he is no longer alive. I chose it because it was the first piece of art bought by the art gallery in 1871. At that time it was considered one of the biggest and most important paintings. Seems like a joke but the painting was sold for 50£. Although back in the past inflation was very little, if we convert that money to the actual now it was not expensive because it costs nearly 2000€.
