Question Tags
QUESTION TAGS
Question tags are grammatical elements that are placed at the end of a sentence in the form of a short question and whose structure is opposed to the previous sentence.
Today in class we have learnt a very important grammatical element that is very useful when speaking english. It’s true that there are some tags that don’t follow the rule and sometimes may seem difficult but this always happen in every language, there are some exceptions.
In the small exam we have done today my mark was a 19 out of 23 possible points.
This are some rules to do them correctly:
- If the main part of the sentence is positive, we add a negative question tag and the other way round.
- If the sentence contains an auxiliary verb or modal verb, we use that for the questions tag if it appears in the main part of the sentence.
